Dimorphodon Fifty Pence from The Royal Mint's Mary Anning Collection of dinosaur-themed coins. This flighted dino was discovered by Anning in 1828, and is presented on the scientifically accurate reverse of this 50p by Paleo-artist Robert Nicholls. This bespoke design, produced in collaboration with the Natural History Museum, shows a Dimorphodon in flight alongside a skeletal reconstruction. The obverse of this brilliant uncirculated Mary Anning Collection 50p shows the definitive effigy of Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark. This is a BUnc coin, struck in 8.00 grams of cupronickel by the Mint and your legal tender Dimorphodon coin arrives in the original Tales of the Earth presentation folder, holding additional insight into its features and discovery. This pre-owned BU Dimorphodon 50p is no longer available new from The Royal Mint, yet is offered here in great condition. Add this collectable specimen to your collection today!

2021 Dimorphodon Obverse

The obverse of the Dimorphodon 2021 Fifty Pence houses the definitive effigy of Elizabeth II. This queenly portrait, the first of his reign, is joined by the legend: 'ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2021'.

Reverse: Dimorphodon Mary Anning 50p

Robert Nicholls worked with the Natural History Museum's expert knowledge to produce the reverse of the Dimorphodon 50p. It shows a Dimorphodon in flight, viewed from below. Above reads 'DIMORPHODON' which is joined below by a commemoration of its finder: 'MARY ANNING 1828'. This entertaining design also features a Dimorphodon's skeleton.
