Celebrate the second animal in the Chinese Lunar Calendar with this limited edition Brilliant Uncirculated Year of the Ox Five Pound Coin. Although the ox is the second animal in the Chinese Zodiac, this Royal Mint coin is the 8th release in the renowned Shengxiao coin collection. The year of the ox began on the 12th February 2021 and the designer of the coin's reverse, Harry Brockway, took inspiration from paintings from the 18th century for his engraving. Its shows the ox grazing in a field with the legend 'YEAR OF THE OX · 2021' directly above it. The Chinese character 牛 is also visible above the ox. On the obverse, the portrait of HM The Queen is seen, as designed by Jody Clark. The cupronickel coin weighs 28.28 grams, measures 38.61 millimetres in diameter and is struck twice to a BU standard. Those born during the year of the ox are believed to be dependable, determined and strong. Your coin will be encased in a protective capsule, which in turn will be attached to an attractive red presentation folder. This makes it the perfect present for any coin collector or anyone born in the year of the ox.
