The popular Beatrix Potter coin series from The Royal Mint continues in 2018 with the BU Peter Rabbit Fifty Pence coin. Released to much fanfare in 2016, Peter Rabbit is back for a third time on UK coins. Like all other previous releases in the Beatrix Potter 50p coin series, this edition of Peter Rabbit has been approved by the original publishing house that brought Potter's stories to the world, Frederick Warne & Co. Emma Noble continues her excellent work from previous Beatrix Potter coins with this recreation of Peter Rabbit on the reverse. He's seen munching away at some juicy carrots and radishes, which he likely nicked from Mr McGregor's vegetable patch! On the coin's obverse side, Jody Clark's engraving of Queen Elizabeth II is visible. This is the fifth definitive portrait of The Queen used on British coinage. The 50 pence coin comes encased in an informative slipcase and is struck in eight grams of cupro-nickel alloy. It comes housed in a special edition coin sleeve from The Royal Mint, which makes it a perfect gift for any coin collector.
