The ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’ £2, struck to commemorate the army’s efforts during World War One. Across the centenary years of WW1, The Royal Mint released a poignant series of coins, each showcasing a different aspect of Britain’s forces. This 2016 UK coin concerns the ‘Pals Battalions’ and the instant camaraderie gained through the localisation of the army’s organisation. The reverse is designed by Tim Sharp and symbolises the Pals Battalions. On the obverse of this Two Pound is Jody Clark’s effigy of Elizabeth II, which here enjoys a brilliant uncirculated finish. This WW1 Centenary £2 is struck in cupronickel and nickelbrass and includes the original presentation folder.
