Before the London 2012 Olympics, The Royal Mint held a public design competition to produce a collection of 29 Fifty Pence pieces inspired by different Olympic sports. This set includes five 2011 designs: those for Aquatics, Sailing, Rowing, Triathlon, and Cycling.
