Brilliant uncirculated London 2012 Podium £5. The Royal Mint's Countdown to London release consists of four coins, one struck in each of the years 2009 to 2012. This 2012 Podium Five Pound is '0' in the London 2012 Countdown series, bearing a reverse by Claire Aldridge which shows a jubilant podium surrounded by London 2012 patterning. The logo is included. This BU edition arrives in the original folder and is a cupronickel coin weighing 28.28 grams gross. The 2012 Countdown Podium £5 was only available for a limited period around when the London Olympics had, at last, arrived. A limit of 250,000 applies to this collectable UK coin.

The Podium £5, coming after the '3,2,1' of the previous entries, serves as '0' in this special Countdown to London series. The design shows a podium rich in celebration, with an outer pattern resembling the Olympic Stadium roof. Further inscription: 'COUNTDOWN XXX OLYMPIAD'.
