Horatio Nelson is celebrated on this 2005 Royal Mint Crown, struck in the 200th anniversary of Trafalgar and Nelson's death. Nelson died knowing that victory was at hand and that, for England, his duty was done. The reverse of this coin presents a portrait of Lord Nelson in his Vice Admiral Uniform, as designed by James Butler. Elizabeth II, another servant to her country, is depicted on the obverse by Ian Rank-Broadley. Struck to mark 200 years since Nelson's death, this coin is done so in 28.28 grams of cupronickel. It has a brilliant uncirculated quality. The sister coin commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar, and both are available in a set. This individual Horatio Nelson edition arrives in the beautifully illustrated coin pack and is a pre-owned collectable from The Royal Mint.

Royal Obverse Portrait

The obverse effigy is Elizabeth II's fourth definitive coinage profile, this one by Ian Rank-Broadley. Legend: 'ELIZABETH II  D · G · REG · F · D  FIVE POUNDS'.

2005 Lord Nelson's Death Anniversary Coin

A proud Vice Admiral Nelson is depicted on the reverse of the coin, flanked by the dates which mark his death and the 200th anniversary, here poignantly marked by The Royal Mint. None can say he did not perform his duty, which, as he famously relayed, was expected of him by England.

BU Lord Nelson £5 Coin

The coin is a brilliant uncirculated commemorative Crown, struck in 28.28 grams of cupronickel to a diameter of 38.61 millimetres.

Vice Admiral Nelson Presentation

The coin is mounted in a wonderfully illustrated coin pack, rich in imagery and historical information regarding the man who led the battle for England. It is one of a pair (the other marking the wider conflict) of commemorative coins released in this key anniversary year. This Horatio Nelson £5 is pre-owned and no longer available new from The Royal Mint.
