The alloy of the 50p, 20p, 10p and 5p coins is Cupro-Nickel (75% copper, 25% nickel) and the 2p, 1p and ½p coins alloy is Bronze (97% copper, 2.5% zinc, and 0.5% tin). The obverse of each coin features the 2nd Portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II, by Arnold Macin, RA, whose design was revamped for the UK stamp we know today.
