Peace Dollars were minted for circulation after World War One, from 1921 to 1928 and again from 1934 to 1935. The design, created by Anthony de Francisci, was intended as a memorial to a hard-won peace and features a portrait of Lady Liberty, modelled by Francisci's wife, paired with the image of a bald eagle.

Sculptor Anthony de Francisci designed the portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a crown for the obverse of Peace Dollars. The word 'LIBERTY' appears above, with the date below and '· IN · GOD · WE TRUST ·' on either side of the bust.
The reverse of these silver coins features a bald eagle holding an olive branch with sun rays behind. The word 'PEACE' appears below, with 'ONE DOLLAR' on either side and 'UNITED · STATES · OF · AMERICA E · PLURIBUS UNUM' above.
The United States Mint struck Peace Dollars in 26.73 grams of 90% silver, offering investors 0.77344 grams of pure Ag. These coins were made at the Philadelphia Mint (no mintmark), the Denver Mint (D) and the San Francisco Mint (S).
