Buy Silver Groat Henry V (1413-1422) Coins

Henry V was born in 1387, son of King Henry IV and Mary de Bohun. Aged 26, he took to the throne in 1413 after his father died. Remembered by many through Shakespear’s play, ‘Henry V’, King Henry V was a truly great medieval king and a great leader. Throughout the majority of his 9-year reign, he was mostly occupied by his part in the Hundred Year War with France. His victories in France earnt him the adoration of his country and, during his second French campaign, he got the mentally ill King Charles VI to recognise him as the next French heir. Henry died at the age of 35, leaving both the French and English thrones to his infant son, Henry VI.
