King Charles II silver proof commemorative coin from The Royal Mint's British Monarchs collection. This is the seventh release in the popular series, which takes inspiration from the historic coinage of our Kings and Queens. For this release celebrating the 'Mery Monarch' King Charles II, the Royal Mint's design team has remastered a classic laureate bust by John Roettiers, originally struck on gold Guineas after Charles was restored to the throne in 1660. Charles II's reign was an eventful one which saw divisions over religion and war with the Dutch. He was a patron of the arts and the sciences and presided over a court famed for its excesses. This collectable British Monarchs coin is struck in one troy ounce of 999 silver and comes from a limited issue of 1,350.
