For this release celebrating the 'Mery Monarch' King Charles II, the Royal Mint's design team has remastered a classic laureate bust by John Roettiers, originally struck on gold Guineas after Charles was restored to the throne in 1660. Charles II's reign was an eventful one which saw divisions over religion and war with the Dutch. He was a patron of the arts and the sciences and presided over a court famed for its excesses. This collectable British Monarchs coin is struck in one troy ounce of 999 silver and comes from a limited issue of 1,350.
