The remarkable portrait from 1847 Gothic Crown, remastered in 2oz of fine silver for The Royal Mint’s Great Engravers series. The work of renown nineteenth century engraver William Wyon, the Gothic Crown featured two miniature masterpieces, released separately as part of this groundbreaking collection. Following on from the Quartered Arms reverse, the set is completed with a unique medieval-revival style effigy of Queen Victoria. Victoria’s great-great granddaughter, Elizabeth II, appears to the obverse in a very different but no less beloved portrait by another Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark.
