2019 Victoria and Albert 5oz silver proof coin, issued by The Royal Mint to commemorate the 200th anniversary of their birth. Both Queen Victoria and her first cousin, Prince Albert, were born in 1819, just three months apart. The couple married in 1840. This commemorative £10 coin, struck in solid 999 silver, features a conjoined portrait of Victoria and Albert, originally designed for a medal issued during the 1851 Great Exhibition. This was one of the last engravings completed by legendary Royal Mint Chief Engraver William Wyon. Only 498 of these large silver five-ounce coins were issued in 2019, and this example is supplied in the original presentation case, complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
