The obverse displays the official coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley with '8 DOLLARS' below, and 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' above. Like the reverse, this standard design looks different with the domed finish.

High-Relief Strike
