2010 Pope Benedict XVI Visit Silver Proof Medal

Official silver proof commemorative medal, made by The Royal Mint to celebrate the official visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the UK in 2010.

Pope Benedict's four-day visit to England and Scotland in September 2010 was the first Papal visit to the United Kingdom since 1982. During the visit, Benedict oversaw the beatification of Cardinal Newman and met with Queen Elizabeth II and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
