Buy a 1921 Threepence

Second coinage 1921 UK silver Threepence with Bertram Mackennal's portrait of King George V, struck at the Royal Mint in London.

These pre-decimal coins are nearly identical to those issued earlier in George V's reign, except for their composition, with the percentage of fine silver used in their manufacture having been reduced in 1920 in response to rising silver prices in the aftermath of the First World War.

  • 8,749,301 Threepences were struck for circulation in 1921, all minted in .500 (50%) silver
  • The reverse displays the classic crowned '3' design, attributed to Jean Baptiste Merlen
