A collectable hammered silver Penny of King Edward the Second from the beginning of his reign as class IIa. The obverse featuring typically the crowned facing bust of the king, with the reverse showing the long cross with three pellets in each quarter and the wording for being struck at the London mint. King Edward II was murdered in Berkeley castle by having a red hot poker inserted through a dear horn into his innards via his back passage.
Grade: Grade: GF. Dark tone, strong bust and legends, very slight regular flan other wise Fine or better.
