The tradition of the monarch distributing money on Maundy Thursday dates back centuries. Since so few coins of this kind are issued by The Royal Mint every year they are very popular with coin collectors with modern dates difficult to acquire. This set contains exclusive Maundy Fourpence, Threepence, Twopence and Penny coins, all struck in 925 sterling silver by The Royal Mint. The coins are presented in a clear protective sleeve inside a presentation box and feature a portrait of Charles III on the obverse and the classic crowned numeral design on the reverse.
