1937 Proof Halfcrown George VI Silver Coin

1937 UK silver proof Halfcrowns, struck for a specimen set issued in the year of King George VI's Coronation.

George VI came to the throne following the death of his father, King George V and the abdication of his elder brother, King Edward VII. The younger George's hastily prepared new coinage features an uncrowned portrait by engraver Humphrey Paget.
