1927 Halfcrown George V Silver Coin

Third coinage 1926 UK silver Halfcrowns with modified uncrowned effigy of King George V, engraved by Sir Edgar Bertram Mackennal.

This classic coinage portrait is paired with George William de Saulles crowned and quartered shield of arms reverse, complete with an encircling garter. This design was introduced during the reign of Edward VII and was replaced after this issue with a new motif by George Kruger Gray.

• Records indicate that 6,825,872 Halfcrowns were struck for circulation by the Royal Mint in 1927
• These third issue coins are made from .500 silver, as was standard between 1920 and 1946
