1917 Halfcrown George V Silver Coin

These 917 silver Halfcrowns were issued in the year that the United States entered World War One and Russia's Tsar Nicholas II abdicated.

Halfcrowns from early in King George V's reign feature a classic crowned shield of arms reverse introduced back in 1902 and designed by George William de Saulles. This is paired with Bertram Mackennal's celebrated uncrowned portrait of the monarch, shown facing left.
