Historic George V 1913 UK silver Threepence, struck for circulation in London by the Royal Mint on the eve of the First World War.

In 1913, the suffragette movement escalated with the passing of the Cat and Mouse Act and the death of Emily Davison, who ran in front of the King's horse. It's an uncrowned left-facing portrait of King George V by Bertram Mackennal that appears on the obverse of these 3d coins.

  • The reverse shows a classic wreath design, attributed to Jean Baptiste Merlen
  • These coins are part of a calendar year mintage of 7,143,242, all struck in .925 sterling silver
