* Images are of the actual product not stock images

A collectable silver matte proof Shilling of King Edward the Seventh, dated 1902. The obverse features the uncrowned head of the king, facing right, with the abbreviated legend around translating as ‘Edward the Seventh by the grace of God, King of all the Britains’. The tiny ‘De S.’ below the truncation of Edward’s neck identifies the artist behind this portrait as British medallist George William de Saulles. The reverse shows a lion, passant, atop a crown which divides the date. The legend lists the denomination - ‘ONE SHILLING’ and the phrase, abbreviated and translated: ‘Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India’. A high grade example of an issue with a low mintage of just over 13,000. Spink 3982, Davies 1550.
