Key date silver Sixpence of Queen Victoria. Obverse: third type A5 Young Head portrait of the queen by William Wyon, facing left, hair bound in two fillets. No artists initials appear to the truncation of Victoria’s neck. Legend around reads: ‘VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR : REG : F : D :’. Reverse: wreath made up of olive and oak branches, tied at the bottom with ribbon above date: 1882. Crown above and in the centre the words ‘SIX PENCE’. No die number. Artist: Jean Baptiste Merlen. This coin weighs 2.83 grams and has a diameter of 19.00 millimetres. One of approximately 759,809 issued by the Royal Mint in this year. Grade: A UNC - Bright tone showing some colour and lustre, one small metal flaw to cheek on obverse, otherwise around Uncirculated. Spink 3912.
