A superb silver Sixpence of Queen Anne, dated 1711. You can divide Anne’s reign and coinage into the period prior to the 1707 Acts of Union and the years afterwards. This Sixpence comes from the latter period, its reverse showing the English and Scottish lions, emblazoned per pale on the top and bottom shields, accompanied by the Welsh harp and the French lis. On this rarer variant the lis are larger than normal. Center: garter star. Angles: plain. The obverse shows John Croker’s portrait of the Queen. A highly graded example and a credit to any collection. Spink 3619.
