Bronze medal celebrating the coronation of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902. This design by Thomas Fattorini Ltd is one of a number of medals produced for this occasion by various companies. The company still exists today and at the time of Edward VII’s coronation they were based in Bradford. The obverse shows a double portrait of Edward and Alexandra, both facing right. This is finer, but similar to that used on the King Edward VII Coronation Medal, issued the same year. The reverse bears a complicated design that includes Britannia, the arms of the United Kingdom, a trumpet playing cherub, a lion, a lighthouse and national floral emblems.
