1772 Resolution and Adventure medal, struck in copper from the second reverse die, without the die break (Eimer 744, BHM 165, Betts 552).

The Resolution and Adventure medal was commissioned by Sir Joseph Banks from Matthew Boulton's Soho Manufactory ahead of Captain Cook's second voyage and designed to be distributed during the circumnavigation, bringing an image of King George III to those the crew encountered.
