Obverse: left-facing Young Head portrait with clear 'W.W.' initials to the truncation for William Wyon, 'M' mintmark below for Melbourne and 'VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:' around. Reverse: Benedetto Pistrucci's Saint George and the dragon engraving, the horse shown with a short tail, the date (1887) below. Mintage: 1,917,048 (including 'shield-back' Sovereigns.
