In 2026, the world marks fifty years since Concorde began commercial operations, a moment that transformed long-distance air travel forever.

Concorde was born from an ambitious agreement between the UK and France in the early 1960s, resulting in one of the most advanced civil aircraft ever built. The reverse, created by Osbourne Ross, shows Concorde in flight across the globe, with the aircraft's name presented in the style of a split-flap departure board alongside the date of its first commercial service: 21 January 1976.
