Designed by the creative studio Osbourne Ross, the coin depicts Concorde in flight, with 'CONCORDE' in bold lettering styled to evoke a classic split-flap departure board, accompanied below by the date: '21 January 1976'.
King Charles III Portrait
The first official coinage portrait of King Charles III appears on the obverse of this one-ounce coin. Designed by sculptor Martin Jennings, it is accompanied by an inscription that reads 'CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 100 POUNDS · 2026 ·'.
Struck In Solid 999.9 Gold
Struck in one troy ounce of 24-carat fine gold, this Concorde coin has a face value of £100 and boasts a premium proof finish, achieved with multiple strikes of hand-prepared dies for a premium, high-contrast, high-shine appearance.
One Of Just 50 Issued
The Royal Mint has authorised the release of just 50 of these official Concorde coins to mark the 50th anniversary of the aircraft entering commercial service in 1976. This is the scarcest piece, a select collection.
First Official UK Concode Coin
The coins in this 2026 collection, made in partnership with British Airways and Airbus, are the first UK legal tender coins released to commemorate Concorde. This 1oz edition is supplied in a box with a certificate of authenticity.
