Low mintage matt proof 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Queen Elizabeth II Five Pound coin from The Royal Mint. Just 20 of these coins have been authorised for release in 2026, making them some of the scarcest pieces in this prestigious centenary collection, commemorating the life and legacy of Her Majesty the Queen. These 22-carat gold £5 pieces feature a distinctive matt proof finish and a design by heraldic artist Timothy Noad, inspired by the ironwork at St George's Chapel, where Elizabeth II is buried. The late Queen was born on 21 April 1926, going on to become the longest reigning British monarch, succeeded by her son, Charles III, who is shown on the obverse.
