Piedfort proof Sovereigns are twice the weight of standard 'full' Sovereigns at 15.98 grams and twice the standard thickness. In other respects, these 2025-dated coins are similar to standard proof Sovereigns, measuring 22.05 millimetres in diameter and composed of 22-carat gold.

An issue of just 1,250 gold proof piedfort Sovereigns have been authorised for issue by The Royal Mint in 2025.
