Shields Reverse Design

Two chevronwise shields with the Royal Arms to the left and the arms of Prince Philip to the right, an anchor below and a crown above with inscriptions which read '1947' and '1997', '20 NOVEMBER' and 'FIVE POUNDS'. Designer: Leslie Durbin.

22-Carat Gold Five Pound

The Royal Mint struck these Five-Pound Crown-sized commemorative coins in 39.94 grams of 22-carat gold with a proof finish, achieved with multiple strikes of hand-prepared dies.
