Buy a 1997 Golden Wedding £5 Gold Proof

Limited edition gold proof Golden Wedding Anniversary £5 coin from The Royal Mint in the original presentation case with a numbered certificate of authenticity. The UK's national mint issued 2,574 of these 22-carat gold coins in 1997 to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, who married in 1947, before Her Majesty came to the throne. Collectors appreciate this issue for the unusual double portrait featured on the obverse, designed by Philip Nathan and reminiscent of historic British currency. The conjoined effigy is paired with an appealing heraldic design by Leslie Durbin that will be instantly recognisable to fans of UK £5 coins.
