Low mintage 1995 four-coin gold proof Britannia set from The Royal Mint. This premium collectors set contains one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce and tenth ounce coins, all dated 1995 and struck in solid 22-carat gold, as all Britannias minted before 2013. These collectors' coins feature the classic standing Britannia design, created by Philip Nathan for the first issue of these iconic British coins in 1987. This is paired with Raphael Maklouf's third effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Collectors enjoy gold proof Britannia sets for their attractive designs and small mintages. Just 500 of these 4-coin gold Britannia sets were issued by the Royal Mint in 1995, making complete examples difficult to acquire. Ours are supplied in the original leather case, complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

The obverses all show Raphael Maklouf's elegant third coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Diamond Diadem with '· ELIZABETH · II · DEI · GRATIA · REGINA · F · D ·' around and the denomination below.

Struck In 22-Carat Gold

Before 2013, The Royal Mint struck all its gold Britannias in solid 22-carat (91.67% fine) gold. That means that the actual gold weight of the four proof coins in this set is 57.75 grams or 1.8567 troy ounces of pure precious metal.

Limited Edition Royal Mint Set

This was the only gold Britannia set issued in 1995, and the Mint only authorised the release of 500 sets. This complete example is supplied in the original leather presentation case, complete with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
