Buy a 1966 Rhodesia Gold £5

Rhodesian gold proof Five Pound coin, produced by the South African Mint. These 22-carat gold coins were commissioned as presentation pieces by the newly formed Rhodesian Reserve Bank, shortly after the white separatist minority government declared independence in November 1965. Following a 15-year guerrilla war, Rhodesia would emerge as the Republic of Zimbabwe in 1980. These Five Pound coins are part of a limited mintage of just 3,000 issued during this significant year in the history of Zimbabwe. They have the same specifications as a British Five Sovereign and a high-shine proof appearance. An appealing and unusual collectors' piece.
