A collectable gold full Sovereign of king George the Fifth, dated 1913 and minted in Melbourne, Australia. The obverse features the bare head of George V, facing left, by Edgar Bertram Mackennal. The reverse shows Saint George, armed with a sword, slaying a dragon under foot by the famous engraver Benedetto Pistrucci. A small ‘M’ above the date on the ground below the dragon indicates the colonial branch mint at which this coin was struck. An interesting addition to any collection in a high grade.
