Obverse: second, large Young Head with raised 'W.W.' initials to the truncation, the date (1871) below and 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA' around, clear evidence of lamination peeling behind the neck. Reverse: crowned and quartered shield of royal arms within a wreath of laurel leaves, the die number (39) below, 'BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:' around. Mintage: 8,767, 250.
