Buy a 1714 Anne Gold Guinea

A collectable full gold Guinea of Queen Anne, dated 1714: the last year of her reign. The obverse features the third draped bust of the Queen facing left, designed by John Croker. The reverse shows crowned cruciform shields of arms around a central sunburst garter motif, perhaps by Johan Ochs. Sceptres in the angles terminate in an orb, a thistle, a Fleur-de-lis and a harp. Anne was the first monarch to issue coins with the ‘star of the garter’ at the centre of the reverse. That her bust incorporates her shoulders is similarly innovative.
Grade: Grade: VF - Generally good bold detail though a little weak around '17' of the date. Otherwise around Very Fine.
