Gold hammered Crown of Elizabeth I with a coronet mint marks to both sides, indicating that this coin was struck between 1567 and 1570. This places this piece into Elizabeth’s third/fourth coinage. The obverse features a type 4c bust of the Queen with legend around that reads: ‘ELIZABETH:DG.’AN’FR,ET:HI.REGINA’. The reverse shows a crowned shield of royal arms, letters ‘E’ and ‘R’ to either side with the legend around: ‘SCVTVM:FIDEI:.PROTEGET:EAM’. 2.64 grams of 22 carat gold. Diameter: 21.9 millimetres. Grade: GF - Good sized flan, reverse details a little flat but no real issues for a grade of Good Fine. Rare. Spink 2522A.
