Silver proof four-coin Series II Olympic Motifs set issued in 1974 by the Royal Canadian Mint in the lead-up to the 1976 Montreal Olympics. This set was the second to be released and includes the 1974 Temple Of Zeus $10, the 1974 Head of Zeus $10, the 1974 Olympic Rings And Wreath $5 and the 1974 Athlete Holding Torch $5 coin. Each coin features reverse designs created by Anthony Mann, paired with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to the obverse by Arnold Machin. The coins in this set are all made from .925 sterling silver with a fine proof finish and frosted devices. The original wooded presentation box is included with a leather-covered lid, which closes with a press stud. A numbered certificate of authenticity accompanies this pre-owned 1974 Canadian coin set.

Arnold Machin's Portrait Of Elizabeth II

Arnold Machin's right-facing bust of Queen Elizabeth II is shown on the obverse of each coin in this set with an inscription that reads 'ELIZABETH II CANADA 1974'. Machin's portrait was the second definitive effigy of Her Majesty used on Canadian coinage.
