This 1971 Gambia coin set, struck by The Royal Mint, marks the country's first decimal coinage. In 1971, The Gambia transitioned from the Gambian Pound to the decimalised Dalasi, and this set of six coins represents the first definitive mintage. A number of natural symbols of The Gambia are featured on the reverse of these proof standard coins, such as the African Ox on the 50 Bututs coin.
