2000 Cerberus Two Pound Circulated Labours Of Hercules Gibraltar Coin

2000 Gibraltar Two Pound coin depicting Cerberus - the final coin in the popular Labours of Hercules series, struck between 1997 and 2000.

Capturing Cerberus was Hercules' twelfth labour. This monstrous three-headed dog guarded the entrance to the underworld, preventing the dead from leaving. Hercules descended into Hades and wrestled Cerberus into submission before dragging the beast back to King Eurystheus.
