1999 Millennium Five Pound Coin

1999 Millennium cupronickel Five Pounds: from a mintage of 3,700,000 coins released by The Royal Mint to celebrate the year 2000.

These Millennium coins feature a design by Jeffrey Matthews, which shows the dial of a clock with the hands between 1999 and 2000, set over the map of the British Isles, along the Greenwich Meridian. This is paired with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley.
