1999 Connecticut Quarter Obverse

John Flanagan designed the obverse portrait of George Washington found on the Connecticut 25¢. The inscriptions include 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA', 'IN GOD WE TRUST', and 'LIBERTY'.

Connecticut Charter Oak 25¢ Design

Connecticut's famous Charter Oak, a large tree which secretly housed the Royal Charter in the 17th century, is sculpted on the reverse design, by Thomas Ferrell. Above, the legend reads 'CONNECTICUT 1778'. This '1999' Quarter also includes lower text 'THE CHARTER OAK'.
