1997 Gibraltar £2 coin featuring the Nemean Lion - the first coin in the popular Labours of Hercules series, issued between 1997 and 2000.

Hercules faced the Nemean Lion as his first labour. The beast's golden fur rendered it impervious to all weapons, making it the terror of the region of Nemea. Hercules wrestled the beast bare-handed, strangling it before using its own claws to remove its hide.
