1991 Northern Ireland Flax Plant One Pound Circulated Coin

Northern Ireland Flax Plant 1991 UK One Pound, featuring a flax plant encircled by a royal diadem on the reverse, designed by Leslie Durbin.

This is the second use of the flax plant design by The Royal Mint for the One Pound coin (the motif was first used on 1986 £1s). This classic design is paired with Raphael Maklouf's definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, shown on the obverse.
