1985 Welsh Leek One Pound Circulated Coin

These coins are part of a series featuring the national plants of the constituent nations of the UK. The leek design was also used on 1990 £1s. It's paired with Raphael Maklouf's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, introduced in this year.

• 228,430,749 of these round, nickel-brass £1s were produced in 1985 by The Royal Mint
• These coins were struck as currency but have since been withdrawn from circulation
