Collectable 1984 UK One Pound coin featuring a classic Scottish Thistle reverse, designed by renowned silversmith Leslie Durbin.

From 1984 to 1992, The Royal Mint alternated between different designs for the £1 coin, inspired by the national plants and flowers of each constituent nation of the United Kingdom. This thistle design was also used in 1989.

  • The obverse shows Arnold Machin's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II - its final use on a Pound coin
  • Edge reads 'NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT' which means 'No one attacks me with impunity'
  • 146,256,501 round, nickel-brass £1 coins were issued in 1984, since withdrawn from circulation
