1983 Royal Arms One Pound Circulated Coin

1983 UK Royal Arms £1 coin: the first circulating One Pound coin, introduced to replace the old Bank of England £1 note.

The Royal Mint's Chief Engraver Eric Sewell designed the classic royal arms motif that appears on these 1983 coins. This instantly recognisable reverse is paired with Arnold Machin's elegant portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
