This set includes eight Falkland Islands BU coins from 2004, including:
Falkland Islands coins circulate alongside UK currency, as they share the same denominations. Many of the designs draw inspiration from the region's distinctive wildlife. A portrait of the reigning monarch is shown on the obverse.
Although struck in the same metals as regular circulation coins, these pieces are produced to a brilliant uncirculated standard with each coin double-struck in small batches to achieve a crisp, flawless finish with enhanced detail.
The set was made by The Royal Mint, the United Kingdom's national mint, which has long supplied coinage for numerous British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies that lack their own minting facilities.
These BU coins are housed in their original presentation folder, complete with integrated capsules for protection. The printed folio also includes detailed background information on the coinage of the Falkland Islands.
